Briar Woods is raising funds to redo our weightroom. The Briar Woods High School weight room is used by a wide variety of people. We have 7 sections of advanced PE that in some way or another will use the weight room during the school day. Those classes are Personal Fitness (predominantly female students), Advance Weight Training (predominantly male students), and NASM which is a class that will give students, that pass the certification criteria, a personal training certification. The weight room is also used by all of our sports programs- just to name a few, football, Boys and Girls Lacrosse, Boys and Girls Soccer, Volleyball, Boys and Girls Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Swim and Dive, track, etc. These are all great problems to have except for the fact that our equipment is pushing 14+ years old and is falling apart. This becomes a safety issue for all those who use the equipment and for the coaches and teachers that are constantly working to fix the equipment.
