If you have any questions, contact Coach Nathan Douglas - coach.nate.douglas@gmail.com

Forms

It is important to note that Players CANNOT tryout until their paperwork is complete. Even if you have turned in your paperwork, please verify that the office has it.

Tryouts CANNOT be made up for individuals who do not submit their forms in a timely manner

All players will be given a piece of tape, in which they will write their First and Last Name, and place on the back of their pinnie.

All phones and electronic devices are expected to be put away and not used for the duration of tryouts.

School Attendance/Injury/Illness

All Players MUST be in school by 9:15am to be eligible to tryout, and be in school the entire day. Please try and not schedule appointments to avoid having to get notes of excuse. If you must leave for an appointment, Players MUST return to school with a note from their doctor that details they are not restricted.

Players that are injured/ill/have limited participation during our 3-day tryout schedule, will be handled on a case-by-case scenario. Players MUST contact Coach Nathan Douglas prior to tryouts starting Monday, February 24th.

If a Player needs to leave early, please let Coach Nathan Douglas know prior to tryouts starting Monday, February 24th.

Tryout Assessment

In an effort to make the tryout process fair and to provide equal experiences for all athletes we have created a list of the critical components we will consider as we make the final JV and Varsity Lacrosse team selections. The following is a list of the areas on which student athletes will be evaluated during the tryout period.

    1. Passing, catching, shooting, ground balls, protection

  2. Dominant Hand stick skills

  1. 8 meter defensive footwork & contact/triangle defense (awareness of ball and lady with stick up or on an angle) **Horizontal Stick Contact is ILLEGAL**

  2. Loud and informative communication throughout defensive play

  3. “6th sense” (early slide anticipation for help or doubles)

  4. Fifty-fifty (Ground Ball/Draw Competition Possession)

  5. Ability to double the ball well in the defensive area and midfield

Attack

  1. Dodging & Shot Placement/Crease Roll
